TrainingThis is a featured page

This area is for the purpose of developing a wilderness survival training program for parents and children.

Based on my own limited experience, I already know that both of my adventures into the wild with my children were fulfilling and trying. I would like to develop a program that would help prepare families for what they will encounter in the wild with a little less drama than I experienced.

Please submit your own experiences on the experiences thread for this page (scroll down).

Please check out this site on wilderness survival training and provide feedback: http://www.wildernessawareness.org

I am not familiar with the direction of this site, but it appears that it will be a good resource: http://wildernesssurvival.wetpaint.com

This thread is to capture everyone's experiences while "learning" about wilderness survival. This could be something as simple as a lesson learned from a time you were stuck somewhere in a storm (rain, ice, snow, etc.), to a time when you were on an exciting expedition. You may have not even learned anything, but share regardless.
